Title: Microsoft Tuesday release fixes IE8 0-day, 33 total CVEs
Description: The recently discovered IE8 0-day, which has been
circulating with weaponized exploit code for over a week now, was
patched in this week's Microsoft Tuesday release. The patches, which
cover 33 CVEs across 10 bulletins, include fixes for a number of "double
fetch" kernel-level vulnerabilities disclosed in Mateusz Jurczyk and
Gynvael Coldwind's Syscan 2013 talk, as well as several other remotely
exploitable issues for which no public code is yet available.
Administrators are urged to patch promptly, as further exploits are
likely to appear in the wild in the short term.

Description: A trivially exploitable (from a web browser) vulnerability
appeared in the wild, complete with sample exploit code, for all
versions of ColdFusion last week. The vulnerability, which can result

recently supplied patches from Adobe or locking down potentially

Sirefef malware
Description: Typical of a long-term trend in the current threat
landscape, the web site of the Regents of the University of Louisiana
was recently compromised via a Wordpress vulnerability, and used to
serve the notorious Sirefef malware to anyone visiting the site.
Wordpress administrators are urged to lock their sites down as tightly
as possible, and to consider running IDS signatures such as Sourcefire
SID 26618, which detect malicious executables being served from within
your protected network, to help respond to incidents like these
promptly.
