@RISK provides a reliable weekly summary of (1) newly discovered attack vectors, (2) vulnerabilities with active new exploits, (3) insightful explanations of how recent attacks worked, and other valuable data
A key purpose of the @RISK is to provide the data that will ensure that the 20 Critical Controls (the US and UK benchmark for effective protection of networked systems) continue to be the most effective defenses for all known attack vectors. But since it is also valuable for security practitioners, SANS is making it available to the 145,000 security practitioners who have completed SANS security training and others at their organizations who hope to stay current with the offensive methods in use.

============================================================NOTABLE RECENT SECURITY ISSUES
SELECTED BY THE TALOS SECURITY INTELLIGENCE AND RESEARCH GROUP
Title: Xen Project Releases Security Advisories for Xen Hypervisor Description: The Xen Project has released multiple security advisories for vulnerabilities that have been identified in the Xen Hypervisor. In total, 9 vulnerabilities were addressed with the most severe (CVE-2015-7835) being a sandbox escape vulnerability. CVE-2015-7835 could allow malicious PV guest administrators to "escalate privilege so as to control the whole system." Note that only x86 systems with Xen versions 3.4 and onward are vulnerable. The Xen Project has released patches to address these defects. Reference: http://xenbits.xen.org/xsa/
Title: Rockwell Automation Addresses Vulnerabilities in Micrologix 1100 and 1400 PLC Systems Description: Rockwell Automation has released security advisories for 5 vulnerabilities in the firmware for the Micrologix 1100 and 1400 PLC systems. These vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to perform a stack-based buffer overflow, unrestricted file uploads, cross-site scripting, or a SQL injection to crash the device, execute arbitrary code, or perform other malicious activities. Rockwell Automation has patch all the vulnerabilities except the buffer overflow vulnerability in the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1400 controllers, which will be addressed in a forthcoming firmware update.
