About Summits

The security landscape is ever-evolving and SANS continuously observes new trends and emerging areas of interest. Each year, SANS hosts a series of annual and brand-new Summits that aim to provide a forum where the best minds in cyber security share real-world case studies and innovative techniques on emerging topics of interest.

Summits are two-day training events that bring together prominent practitioners and security experts to share lessons learned, new tools, and innovative methods for improving security and overcoming challenges facing the cyber security community. Over two days, attendees enjoy a series of in-depth presentations and panel discussions delivered by practitioners from leading organizations. Attendees have the opportunity to interact with fellow security professionals and expert speakers during networking opportunities and bonus sessions.

SANS Summit topics include:

  • Industrial Control Systems
  • Digital Forensics & Incident Response
  • Security Operations Center
  • Pen Test HackFest
  • Cyber Threat Intelligence
  • Threat Hunting & Incident Response
  • Security Awareness
  • Cloud Security
  • Data Breach
  • Secure DevOps
  • SIEM & Tactical Analytics
  • Blue Team

In-Depth Talks and Panel Discussions

Summits are comprised of multiple 35- to 45-minute presentations and panel discussions covering specific tools and proven techniques based on real-world experiences. Speakers and presentations are reviewed and selected by the Summit chair(s) and an advisory board to ensure the material presented gives attendees actionable information they can implement immediately upon returning to their organizations.

Networking and Community Events

Summits provide several opportunities to network with fellow practitioners. Through networking breaks, bonus sessions, workshops and challenges, attendees are able to make valuable industry connections and forge new relationships that have a lasting impact on their careers.

Attendee Vendor Connections

Summits provide the opportunity to engage with leading security vendors all in a common setting. Attendees can research products they're looking to implement, or explore the latest cutting-edge solution during networking breaks, Lunch & Learns, vendor-sponsored receptions, live demos, and more.
